Road to Argentis - Part VI

Hello Wargamers!

The time to smash models together is coming quick. I feel the desire for a fully painted army burning deep inside me and no amount of Tums will quell the burn! The world seems to conspire against me to make sure I don't finish the great work however.

I had to move recently and this drastically reduced the amount of time I had to paint since my station wasn't set up, but I continued to do what I could as much as I could do it. My airbrush even broke while I was doing some basecoats. I sprinted to a Hobby Lobby to buy a brush to make sure I wasn't slowed down any longer than necessary. Thankfully, all of the models have paint on them. Unfortunately, I don't think I am going to be able to put the full Dylan paint job experience on all of them. Corners must be cut in order to get it all done in time to a reasonable level. I am going to do as much as possible and attempt to go for the gold, but I must temper my expectations.

I managed to finish the Reavers and Justerain I will be using for the event with a few extra for use later. I think that they came out very well and I am glad I took the time to do all the extra details. The models surprised me with how much detail they had and it took me alot longer than expected to get them where I wanted them. I am very, very proud of how they came out and glad I spent the extra time on them. Lets just hope they can get the job done on the table. I am always a tad underwhelmed by the Reavers.

All of the work I do from this point is to get the line troops as close to done as possible and make sure the vehicles at least have the green finished. I hope to get the black done as well, but some of the finer details may be left out until after I get back. Well here is a preview of hopefully some coming attractions. Keep up the boom boom guys. Cya next time.

Babylon Part IV - A Rude Afternoon

Pre-Game The invasion of Babylon may have had a temporary hiccup with the destruction of the Battlegroup Florentine, but the war goes on. The Blutzkorp's Battlegroup Sigrid had a faultless landing and has moved into position to join up with the Battlegroup Florentine and the approaching NDaK forces led by Rommel unfortunately; things are not going as the Axis planned. Sigird made it to the rendezvous, but where is everyone else? Those approaching tanks look a little too olive drab to be German. Machete Mack and Bazooka Joe have removed the possibility of Luftwaffe intervention to this ambush. They are also aware of the approaching NDaK Battlegroup. Some quick-thinking delaying actions have managed to slow down Rommel's advance just long enough to do considerable damage to the true architects of the Allie's woes. If they can remove Sigrid from the war altogether, than surely the Axis Bloc would start to fall apart without the support of the Blutkreuz.  Sigrid saw the c...

Chain of Command - Battle of the Bulge Set-Up

Hello wargamers! My very good buddy Tim and I decided that we wanted to start a campaign since we are both suckers for narrative gaming. I recently introduced Chain of Command to him since we both love games set in World War II, and he took to it like a fish to water. For reasons discussed a little later, we decided to theme it around fighting in the forests and towns of the Bastogne area of Belgium. I will be taking command of the 26th Volksgrenadiers that assaulted the Americans during operation Nordwind. Tim would take command U.S. Airborne. 101st Airborne Division, 501st Regiment, 3rd Batalion, H Company, 1st Platoon The best part of this entire idea is that not all of this is going to be "made up." Tim knew and frequently conversed with someone who was actually there and is the actual commanding officer of the company that he is going to play. I could write about everything I was told, but I figured I would just let Tim write it himself. His respect for the man being t...
